The church was spectacularly lit with 100 candles, lasers, computer controlled lighting and 1,500 fairy lights for our popular village Candlit Concert which included musical numbers from Mary  Poppins, Whistle Down the Wind and Spamalot  in addition to well known Christmas songs.
Our Christmas Family Service was led by the children of the Junior Church. It included a comedy nativity play  which was especially written for the Junior Church by our resident comedian Steve Moss.
However the highlight of the concert, certainly for the children, was the entrance of Santa Claus, who came laden with sweets. This year's special effects included a heavy fall of snow from the roof of the church and loads of bubbles!  After the concert there was a delicious buffet for all the audience.

Over the years we've sung in sub-zero temperatures, wind, fog and even snow. However we've always been luckily that it hasn't rained - and this year was no exception, although temperatures were hovering around freezing point. Over thirty children and parents turned out and we collected £100. Afterwards the singers enjoyed hot chocolate, mince pies and mulled wine! Thank you to everyone who donated so generously.
We also went carol singing around the village. This is the 25th consecutive year that we have been carol singing in Bladon.

The final event of the year was our Christmas Eve Service. This short all-age service was a lovely was to finish Junior Church for 2009.
The pace picked up in 2010 with our Christmas and New Year  which included lots of traditional party games, a delicious tea and a visit by Santa.
